FLASHCADE

Terms of service

Last updated 31 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Flashcade at flashcade.app ("Flashcade", "we", "us"). By using Flashcade you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

The service

Flashcade turns study material you provide into flashcards using AI and lets you learn them through games. We may add, change or remove games and features over time.

Your account

You need an account to make AI projects, save progress across devices and buy Plus. Keep your sign-in secure and do not share access to your account. You must be at least 13 years old and meet any higher local minimum age. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must approve your use and any paid subscription.

Your content

You retain any rights you have in the material you provide. We do not claim ownership of your uploads or generated flashcards; AI output may not be exclusive or protected by copyright. You give us permission to store, process and display your content as needed to run Flashcade, including sending it to AI providers and showing shared projects to people with access. This permission lasts while needed to provide the service, handle deletion and meet legal obligations.

Only upload material you have the right to use. Don't upload anything illegal, anything that infringes someone else's rights, or other people's personal data you aren't allowed to share. If you share a project by link, you are responsible for making sure you may share its contents.

AI-generated flashcards

Flashcards are written by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or misleading. Check anything important against your original material. Flashcade is a study aid, not a source of truth, and we are not responsible for exam results or decisions based on generated cards.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse Flashcade: no attempts to break or overload the service, get around limits, access other people's accounts or data, cheat on leaderboards or coins with automated tools, harass other players, or use the service to make content that is illegal or harmful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Free plan and Flashcade Plus

  • The free plan includes a limited number of AI projects per month. Studying shared projects is always free.
  • Flashcade Plus is a subscription billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, at the price shown before you pay. It renews automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time in the billing portal (the Plus button in the app). Plus stays active until the end of the period you paid for; we don't refund partly used periods, except as described below or where the law requires it.
  • If we change the price, we tell you in advance. The new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
  • Coins, avatar items and mystery boxes, including those that come with Plus, are virtual game items with no cash value. They cannot be redeemed for money or transferred between accounts. This does not limit statutory refund rights for a paid subscription.

Right of withdrawal and refunds

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK, you can withdraw from your initial Plus subscription within 14 days after the contract is concluded, without giving a reason. Flashcade offers a full refund for a withdrawal in this period, including if you have started using Plus. We do not ask you to waive this right at checkout.

To withdraw, provide a clear statement that you want to withdraw, your account email, purchase date and the subscription or receipt reference. A specific form is not required. We will refund the payment to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal. Other mandatory cancellation, refund and remedies for a faulty service remain available under applicable law.

Availability

We work to keep Flashcade running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance or if a provider we depend on fails. Keep your own copy of material that matters to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using Flashcade at any time and request erasure of your personal data. Cancel Plus separately in the billing portal to stop renewals. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and may act immediately to address abuse or security risks. If we close Flashcade entirely, we will tell users in advance and refund any prepaid Plus time that is left.

Liability

Flashcade is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we tell signed-in users at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Flashcade after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel Plus and stop using the service.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Courts at our place of residence have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can also bring a claim there.
